Who are we?

Vic

Victoria

Hi! I’m Victoria (or “Vic”) and I come from a small town called Halifax in Yorkshire, England. I studied at university in Edinburgh and later worked in London in the Training Department of the Ministry of Defence.

Since moving to Madrid in 2006, I have taught Business English in companies (including BBVA, Cofares, Unión Fenosa, Atos, among others), worked in schools, and also independently with students of all ages and levels. I have also been a Cambridge examiner across all levels.

I hold a Cambridge teaching qualification (CELTA) and a postgraduate certificate in education (International PGCE) from the University of Sheffield (UK).

What I enjoy most about my work is helping my students gain confidence and feel comfortable expressing themselves in English, without blocks or barriers. It’s something I relate to personally when speaking Spanish: when I’m with someone who makes me feel at ease, I speak so much better!

Outside the classroom, I love having conversations, going for walks with our dog, reading crime novels, and exploring new places.

I would love to work with you, whether it’s in an English immersion experience at our home in the Sierra, in England during the summer, or in online classes from anywhere in the world.

Paul

Hello!

I’m Paul from Yorkshire, England. I come from Huddersfield, a town near Manchester and Leeds. I studied Drama and Education at university in Leeds, and later completed my CELTA and TEFL qualifications to become an English teacher.

I worked as Director of Studies in a language academy for four years, and spent six years teaching in companies and at a university. I also worked at the British Council for five years as an IELTS examiner.

I am currently based in Madrid, where I specialise in preparing students for official English exams (C1, B2, PET, KET, APTIS, Linguaskill and LanguageCert), as well as developing the language skills of younger learners.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work alongside teachers from many different countries, which has deeply enriched my teaching approach. I believe in an education that contributes to happiness, balance, and personal success, and I am passionate about sharing what I have learned in every project I take part in, with the aim of inspiring students on their own journey.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy writing songs, playing the guitar, and following my football team.
